The album title – Days of Wine and Roses – is borrowed from the British poet Ernest Dowson’s poem Vitae Summa Brevis Spem Nos Vetat Incohare Longam, translated as ‘The Shortness of Life Forbids Us Long Hopes’. The title of the poem is a quote from the Roman poet Horatius. In this way, a connection is made historically between Horatius senior and Horatius ‘junior’, in other words László Horvath, who became known to the general public under the pseudonym Ladislaus Horatius.
